Two explosions shut down roads in Weare, N.H., and brought in federal investigators Thursday morning, according to police and the Boston field division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The incident involved two separate explosions Wednesday and Thursday, Weare Police confirmed around 1 p.m. One resident near the second explosion Thursday reported “minor injuries,” police said.
The first explosion occurred near 362 Dustin Tavern Road, listed as a single-family home, at approximately 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, Weare police reported.
The second took place near 16 Sugar Hill Road, another residential home, around 6:50 a.m.
Two devices used in the explosions are “being compared to determine whether the incidents are related,” police said. The type of explosives was not identified as of 2 p.m.
Weare police warned residents of road closures on Dustin Tavern Road, Concord State Road and Sugar Hill Road throughout Wednesday evening and Thursday morning on the department Facebook without giving any specifics of the explosions. All roads were reopened by noon Thursday.
Around 10 a.m. ATF Boston confirmed federal agents were on the scene investigating the incident. The agency has not given any further details on the incidents as of 2 p.m.
New Hampshire State Police tweeted troopers are also assisting the ongoing investigation. The department said there is “no known threat to public safety at this time” and local traffic may continue to be impacted during the investigation.
In updates, Weare police reminded all travelers “to always remain on alert” and asked residents who may have surveillance footage “capturing any portion of Sugar Hill Road or Dustin Tavern Road” to please check and share any potential evidence.
