As no history lesson is needed, Mini has really come a long way. With their original Cooper and Cooper S, their brand has expanded down multiple avenues while still staying in the sedan category. As a subsidiary of BMW of North America, MINI comes to Grasso’s Garage this week with their 2023 Clubman S All4.
Wrapped in Sage Green with gold accents, our 2023 MINI Cooper S Clubman All4 is really a good looking sedan. Its all-wheel drive capability is nicely oriented in the winter months. Powering the Clubman S is the 2.0 liter MINI TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine producing 189 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. Although these numbers seem low and entry level, this is the opposite. Its peppy-like 8-speed sport automatic transmission was quick and lag-less unlike previous models.
Standard options on the Clubman S ALL4 includes keyless entry, an array of standard safety features including heads up display and an excellent upgraded seat and comfort over previous models and generations. A 8.8” touchscreen media display in familiar circular fashion in the center stack was great. There was a center console remote to use for those not liking the touchscreen capabilities.
Complimentary Maintenance similar to BMW vehicles include oil changes, spark plugs, air filters and brake fluid for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles. These maintenance programs that are free of charge, or as I like to call them, included in the price, are nicely oriented and aid toward the lease buyers heavily.
In Grasso’s Garage, MINI has a strong place in our garage as I was a previous owner of the Cooper S Clubman back in 2012. Its wagon-like appearance is nice and it gives the owner that much more storage room with the MINI brand familiar hearse-like rear doors for easy access. In 2023, there are 4 doors rather than my 2012 which had 3, but this sedan, wagon-like MINI is really a nice option for commuters because of great mileage, easy on the wallet with realistic vehicle pricing and maintenance as well as an iconic appearance with a nice color pallet and features to make them unique for the consumer.
