WEDNESDAY’S HIGHLIGHTS

BASEBALL

Mike Cobb pitched a complete-game, surrendering two hits and striking out 10, in a 4-0 win for Waltham (5-2) over Dual County League opponent Bedford.

In a Greater Boston League matchup, Brady Warren went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a homer and two RBI for Lynn Classical (8-1) in an 8-6 win over Revere. … Brandon McMahon fanned 13 and allowed just four hits in a complete game, stymying Everett for Malden (7-4) in a 5-0 win.

Freshman Owen Miller registered three hits including a homer, driving in four in an 11-5 win for Bellingham over Tri-Valley League opponent Millis.

Brett Ebert cleared the bases with a double in the fourth inning, coupling with Austin Harper’s complete game on the mound to help Wilmington beat Lexington 5-3 in the Middlesex League.

With a solo homer and three RBI, Robbie Welch led the Shawsheen offense (8-0) alongside Dyllon Pratt (two doubles, three RBI) in a 13-2 nonleague win over Saugus.

A complete-game, three-hitter with seven strikeouts from Dan Surette paced Braintree to a 5-2 win against Newton North in Bay State Conference action.

Harrison Hinkle’s 4-for-4 day at the plate with a triple and two RBI stood out for Milton (11-0) as it edged Natick 6-3 in nine innings.

Jake Bohlin (3-for-3) smacked a home run and a triple as Dennis-Yarmouth (5-4) topped Nauset 9-5 in Cape and Islands League action.

BOYS LACROSSE

Evan Paturzo, Theo Stamatel and Brady Vitelli each had four goals in a 15-3 victory for Bishop Feehan over Catholic Central League opponent Arlington Catholic.

Max Nilt locked in for five goals and Grant Sullivan added a hat trick for Dover-Sherborn as part of a 13-10 Tri-Valley League win against Medfield.

GIRLS LACROSSE

In the Catholic Central League, Vanessa Hall, Kasey Litwin and Ava Nason each collected four goals for St. Mary’s in a 12-11 win over Bishop Stang. … Avery Valicenti (six goals), Caroline Batchelder (five goals) and Clare O’Keefe (four goals) all erupted on offense to bolster Archbishop Williams in an 18-10 win over Cardinal Spellman, while O’Keefe surpassed the 100-goal threshold.

A dominant defensive display backed Ella Nagle’s six goals as Whitman-Hanson (5-1) toppled Pembroke 11-1 in Patriot League action.

Ilex Fowler caught fire with five goals, while Charlize Collins and Elisabeth Delorey each added two as Burlington cruised past Stoneham 16-1 in the Middlesex League.

Senior Lily Nees netted six goals and dished three assists, while sophomore Karina Bosco added five goals and an assist as Dighton-Rehoboth (5-2) outlasted Seekonk 16-12 in a South Coast Conference tilt.

Freshman phenom Evelyn Bernard showed out with nine goals and senior Dylan Whitman scored five, lifting Hamilton-Wenham past Bishop Fenwick 17-5 in nonleague play.

SOFTBALL

Sophomore Sharlotte Stazinski fired a complete-game no-hitter, punching out 15 batters in an 11-0 win for Walpole over Bay State Conference opponent Framingham.

In a Boston City League battle, senior Alanis Toledano tossed a one-hit gem, fanning 14 batters, while Claire Hauck drove in four in a 15-3 win for Latin Academy over O’Bryant.

Brooke Tardugno and Thyanais Santiago each belted homers, while Bella Monsanto and Lea Lynch combined for seven RBI as Methuen (6-1) rolled to a 17-5 Merrimack Valley Conference win over Lowell in five innings.

Sofia Scalfani (3-for-4, six RBI) was a double shy of hitting for the cycle, leading an offensive charge that saw every Wilmington batter pick up at least one hit in a 15-3 victory over Lexington in Middlesex League play. … Morgan Barmash tossed a 12-strikeout no-hitter for Woburn, beating Watertown 16-0.

Triton (6-1) flashed plenty of power in a 5-3 nonleague win over Reading, with Isabell Oldoni and Grace Romine each blasting home runs.

Shannon Varvitsiotis tossed a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts for Abington (4-3), helping it best Norwell 9-0 in South Shore League play. … Eva Jenness singled in a run in the first inning, giving Cassidy Machado (seven innings, seven strikeouts) all she needed from the circle to pitch Middleboro past New Bedford 1-0.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Nick Brancaccio dialed in for 24 kills, pairing with Brandon DaSilva (15 kills) to finish off most of Hunter Parent’s 50 assists as Barnstable rallied to a 3-2 Southern Alliance win over Quincy.

Barrett Cross (30 assists) linked up with Ryan Cole (12 kills) and Ryan Lovasco (eight kills, four blocks) to power Essex Tech (3-3) in a 3-1 nonleague win over Salem.

Victor Lam distributed 50 assists to help five different players pick up double-digit kills, setting Chelmsford (4-2) up for a 3-1 win against Andover in Merrimack Valley Conference action.

Joe Kelly and freshman Finn Bell each erupted for 19 kills for Wayland (3-6) to outlast Dual County League foe Lincoln-Sudbury, 3-2.

In the Greater Boston League, Revere topped Lynn Classical 3-0 behind 17 kills from Ruben Rodriguez, 11 kills from Alex Serrano Taborda and 31 assists from Christyan Berger.
