Police investigating fatal pedestrian accident in Andrew Square

The area around Andrew Square has been closed off by police as they investigate a fatal pedestrian accident that happened this morning.

Boston Police confirmed the accident but would not release further details or information about the victim at this time.

Photographs from the scene show significant injury to a victim. Police have closed off all of Andrew Square as they investigate.

About a mile and a half away, near the intersection of East and West Broadway with Dorchester Street, police pulled over a truck in connection with the investigation.

The truck at the scene was from Almeida Trucking, based in Rehoboth. The contact number for the company could not be completed as dialed.

According to information from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Almeida Trucking has not been involved in any crashes in the past two years and there are six drivers with the company.

The MBTA has closed Andrew Station to bus service in connection with the accident. Connecting service is available at JFK/UMass.
