A 25-year-old Revere man is accused of stabbing a person in a Market Basket parking lot after getting into a dispute over a parking spot, according to the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office.

Victor Rojas Avalo allegedly stabbed an individual at the Market Basket parking lot in Chelsea on Monday evening.

The Revere man has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife). Chelsea District Court Judge Jane Prince set $500 bail, and ordered Avalo to stay away from the victim and from Market Basket.

Assistant District Attorney Jared Hirsch in court said Avalo attacked the victim at about 5 p.m. on Monday “after the two got into a dispute over a parking spot in the lot,” according to the Suffolk DA’s office.

When police arrived, they found the victim bleeding heavily from a wound in his left backside. Avalo was arrested soon after in Revere.

He’s expected to return to court on March 22 for a pre-trial hearing.
