The Patriots, who currently have two open spots on their 90-man roster, hosted defensive end Trey Flowers for a workout Monday for the second time this offseason, a source confirmed to the Herald.
Flowers’ workout with the Patriots on Monday went well, per a source.
The Patriots previously hosted Flowers back in March during the beginning of free agency. The team doesn’t have a glaring hole on their defensive line, but Flowers was one of the Patriots’ best defenders in his first tenure with the team from 2015 to 2018. Flowers helped the Patriots win two Super Bowls and earned All-2010s Team honors in New England.
Flowers played four games with the Miami Dolphins last season. He’s been plagued by injuries since leaving the Patriots for the Detroit Lions and Dolphins since 2019.
The Patriots currently have Sam Roberts, Keion White and Deatrich Wise at defensive end and Anfernee Jennings, Matthew Judon, Ronnie Perkins and Josh Uche at outside linebacker.
