Field hockey

Avery Bent scored twice and dished an assist, pairing with two goals from Kelly Devine to power Dover-Sherborn (10-2) in a 6-1 Tri-Valley League win over Bellingham. … Shea Larkee netted another hat trick for Norwood (12-1-0) to power a 5-0 win over Holliston.

Brooke Shaughnessy picked up two points with a goal and assist as Essex Tech defeated Pentucket 3-1 in Cape Ann League play.

Emily Barbosa and Chloe Pickett scored, while Alex Tardugno had 11 saves bringing her career save total to 709 as Methuen (7-3-2) and Tewksbury played to a 2-2 tie in the Merrimack Valley Conference. … Kerri Finneran buried a pair of goals, as Central Catholic (11-1) defeated Chelmsford, 3-0.

Raena Crandall buried a hat trick, while Haley Wernig scored twice and Emily Carney had a goal and an assist as Franklin (12-0-1) cruised to a 6-0 Hockomock League win over Canton.

Kallie Rose and Kaelyn Zuber struck for two goals apiece, helping Dartmouth (12-0) earn a 7-1 Southeast Conference victory over New Bedford.

Ryan Hallisey and Haylen Wilson scored two goals each for Hingham (9-2-1) in a 7-0 rout of Patriot League foe Whitman-Hanson.

Callie Burchill and Gabby Diaute linked up for a goal and an assist each for Braintree (6-5) in a 3-0 nonleague win over Hanover.

Football

Chelmsford star Kyle Wilder has been released from Boston Children’s Hospital. The Wilder family announced the news Friday.
Wilder was injured during a Sept. 22 game against Methuen, suffering severe swelling to his right thigh. The following Tuesday, he was taken to Lowell General Hospital. Doctors and nurses at LGH determined Wilder needed emergency specialty care so he was promptly med-flighted to Boston Children’s Hospital, according to his family.
Wilder remained in the intensive care unit at BCH for 11 days. According to the statement, he has undergone five surgeries to his right thigh. He then spent an additional six days at Children’s, receiving occupational, speech and physical therapy.

Anthony Taurasi ran for 125 yards and three touchdowns as Latin Academy (1-4) rolled to a 28-8 win over English/New Mission in Boston City League action.

In a Middlesex League matchup, Myles Sanchez rushed for two touchdowns to lift Wakefield (4-2) to a 28-0 win over Watertown (1-5).

Quarterback Ryan McGrath scored twice on the ground and twice with his arm, leading a potent Bedford (4-2) offense over Newton South, 42-8, in Dual County League play.

Chris Capone ran for two scores, and Colin Kenney threw a touchdown pass and tacked on a rushing score as Nobles (1-3) stormed past Middlesex 42-14 in the Independent School League.

In a South Shore League showdown, Ryan Simonetti found the endzone twice, lifting Abington (5-1) to a 21-0 victory over Rockland (5-1).

Garrett Webb threw for a pair of touchdowns as Dover-Sherborn (3-3) held off Millis 14-6 in the Tri-Valley League.

Damien Lackland ran for three touchdowns and Jayden Prophete added two, powering Everett (5-1) in a 41-6 Greater Boston League rout of Medford. … Abbas Atoui ran for two scores and returned a blocked punt 30 yards for a touchdown as Revere (1-5) defeated Somerville, 36-0.

Rayhan Nsereko couldn’t be stopped, rushing for four touchdowns on 180 yards and ripping off an 88-yard kick return for a score as Lincoln-Sudbury (5-1) posted a second straight shutout with a 49-0 win over Dual County League foe Acton-Boxboro. … Jake Cullen completed 13-of- 17 passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for two scores as Westford Academy (4-2) defeated Concord-Carlisle 41-27. Alex Wilson added 184 rushing yards and a score for the Grey Ghosts. … Max Dresens ran for 183 yards and a touchdown as Wayland (4-2) held off Waltham, 21-20.

Jayden Barber completed 7-of-14 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 61 yards as Dennis-Yarmouth (5-1) defeated Falmouth 27-6 in the Cape and Islands League.

Jarred Daughtry tossed a pair of touchdown passes and ran for a score as Stoughton (2-4) coasted to a 35-0 Hockomock League win over Attleboro.

In the Catholic Central League, Anthony Nichols struck for 106 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries, leading Bishop Fenwick (5-1) to a 34-6 victory over Archbishop Williams. Luke Connolly added 146 rushing yards for the Crusaders. … Nick Marks and Maxwell Parent each returned interceptions for touchdowns as St. Mary’s (4-2) defeated Arlington Catholic, 45-8.

Stu Burnham scampered for 83 yards and two touchdowns, returned a kickoff 95 yards to paydirt, and forced a fumble as Old Colony (5-1) handled Cape Cod Tech 46-14 in the Mayflower Athletic Conference. … Ajay Lopes ran for 220 yards and three touchdowns, threw a TD pass and also returned a kick for a score as Wareham (4-2) outscored Holbrook/Avon, 52-30.

Noah Mackenzie completed 12-of-14 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns, while adding a fourth score as Walpole (5-1) knocked off previously unbeaten Milton, 42-23. Jamal Abdal-Khallaq caught five passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns, while picking off a pair of passes, one of them going for a score. … Tate Hoffmeister ran for 145 yards and three touchdowns as Needham (5-1) defeated Braintree, 42-21.

In a Patriot League contest, Alex Burrill racked up 210 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries for Scituate (3-3) in a 48-21 win over Plymouth South (3-3). … Mikey Galligan completed 9-of-15 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for a fourth score as North Quincy (3-3) outscored Pembroke, 43-32. Ben Hudach rushed for 123 yards and two scores, while Ben Walinjom caught three passes for 133 yards and a score. … Alex Barlow ran for 146 yards and four touchdowns as Duxbury (4-1) defeated Silver Lake, 49-21. … Davin True ran for three scores as Marshfield (4-2) defeated Hingham, 43-22.

Justin Marques ran free for 236 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries, Colby Correia picked off two passes and rushed for a touchdown, and both Nate Pickup and Chase Feno recorded two sacks as Fairhaven (6-0) shut out South Coast Conference foe Old Rochester, 28-0. … Brody Joly erupted for three rushing touchdowns and two touchdown receptions, while returning a kickoff 75 yards for another score to help Apponequet overcome Dighton-Rehoboth, 44-40.

Vincent Ciancio completed 13-of-23 passes for 188 yards and a score as Tewksbury defeated Chelmsford 14-7 in the Merrimack Valley Conference.

Jason Berry threw two touchdown passes to Gavin Brady, and Otto Indelicato rumbled in for two touchdowns as North Reading (3-2) upended Ipswich 35-12 in a Cape Ann League contest.

Ryan Copson (five catches, 80 yards, two TDs) was Sidney Tildsley’s favorite target in a three-touchdown performance, pairing with scores on special teams and on defense to lift unbeaten Shawsheen (6-0) over Triton 35-7 in nonleague play. … Connor Curtis ran for two scores and threw for a third as Mansfield (3-3) handed Barnstable its first loss, 28-7. … Montavius Zollarcoffer ran for two touchdowns, caught a TD pass and returned both a kick and interception for touchdowns as O’Bryant (4-1) defeated Roxbury Prep, 36-6.

Nick Crowe returned one of seven Canton interceptions for a touchdown in a 26-0 victory over Masconomet. … Andy Ambroise caught two TD passes and ran for a third as Brighton defeated Dracut/Innovation, 42-32.

Boys golf

Quinn Dumas shot a 34 (two under par) as Xaverian (10-3) defeated Bridgewater-Raynham 233-258 in a nonleague match. … Brady Sullivan shot a career-low 34, and Jack Fitzgerald chipped in with a 42 as Durfee beat Middleboro, 123-72.

Ryan Keyes shot a four under par 32 for Wellesley in a 130-71 Bay State Conference win over Weymouth.

Boys soccer

Marc Sullivan and Jack Sullivan scored for Foxboro in a 2-0 Hockomock League win over Mansfield. … Mike Morais and Joey Carney found the net as Oliver Ames (10-2-1) clinched its fifth straight Davenport Division title with a 2-1 win over Stoughton. … Garrett Scagliarini and Rex Cinelli got on the scoresheet for Franklin (10-0-4) in a 2-0 victory over King Philip.

Patrick Frank and Nick Mirogiannis hit the back of the net for two goals each, and Clay Chase provided three assists as Reading blanked Woburn 4-0 in Middlesex League play.

Miguel Olivera shined with four goals, adding more than enough insurance Plymouth North needed for a 7-2 nonleague win over Falmouth.

Girls soccer

Aly Fernandes scored two goals, and Lauren Signoriello supplied two assists for Mansfield (9-3) in a 3-1 Hockomock League win over Foxboro. … Siena Fabrizio netted the lone goal to lift Oliver Ames (10-2) to a 1-0 win against Stoughton. … Anya Zub’s hat trick propelled Franklin to a 3-1 over King Philip.                                                                                                                                                                     Freshman Jenna Lehane netted two goals as Blue Hills (11-0-2) topped Diman 2-1 to secure its third consecutive Mayflower Athletic Conference title.

Tahira Johnson (hat trick, assist) and Amaya Davis (two goals) set the tone offensively for Cathedral (5-3) in a 9-0 nonleague win over Brighton.

Girls volleyball

Meghan Downes racked up 20 assists and 23 service points, while Lily Todorova and Keira Moore had six kills each as Billerica (11-4) bested Masconomet 3-0 in a nonleague matchup. … Addison Pillis grounded 11 kills, and Ella Stein notched 10 kills and two aces as Ipswich (13-0) downed Beverly, 3-0. … Morgan Etna recorded eight kills and two aces, while Gaby Campbell posted 13 kills for Hamilton-Wenham (11-3) in a 3-0 win against Swampscott. … Elsa Richards contributed six kills and 16 assists, and Christine Mbachi registered nine kills as Essex Tech (10-5) swept Bishop Fenwick, 3-0.

Taylor Lines scattered five aces, while Mia Bradshaw finished with four aces and six assists for South Shore Voke (13-2) in a 3-0 Mayflower Athletic Conference win over Bristol Aggie.

Julie Hall tallied 11 kills as Central Catholic (6-9) bested North Andover 3-1 in Merrimack Valley Conference action.

Class notes

Hamilton-Wenham announced the latest group of players, coaches, contributor and teams to be inducted into the Hamilton-Wenham Athletic Hall of Fame on November 21st at the Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton.

The group consists of the following: Michael Harris (class of 1968 – Football, Basketball, Track), Philip “Rocky” Burnham (class of 1968 – Football, Basketball, Baseball), Ralph “Mickey” Vitale (class of 1972 – Football, Basketball, Baseball), Mark Silva (class of 1977 – Soccer), Jules Gourdeau Whelan (class of 1989 – Soccer and Softball), Dianna Chivakos (class of 2001 – Cross Country and Track), Mia Swenson (class of 2003 – Cross Country and Track), Robert Weinhold (Wrestling and Football Coach and Athletic Director), Richard Butterworth (Basketball Coach and Assistant Baseball Coach), Harold Simpson (Contributor), the 1967 Football Team and the 1999-2000 Girls Cross Country Teams.

Wrestling

The Massachusetts Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame induction will be held at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, October 28.

The Massachusetts Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame will be honoring its Lifetime Service inductees Ron Brown, Steve Cherella, Wayne Griffin, Paul Murphy, Chris Pacelli and Joe Streadwick (Posthumous) as well as the Medal of Courage inductee Frank Ciavattone and Outstanding American inductee Myron Allukian Jr. DDS MPH. The North Attleboro 1997 Division II State championship team will also be recognized.

Their achievements will be recognized by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Stillwater, Oklahoma with an official commemorative plaque, a National Hall of Fame jacket, a biographical poster board and a keepsake program booklet. Their names will be memorialized with the other inductees on the National Wall of Honor.
